CANVAS

Second Orbit

(2025)  36″x24″

This piece began on a rescued surface — a canvas with its own past, layered with traces of a previous image. Instead of hiding it, I let the past shape a new path. It felt like giving the surface another chance, like a satellite pulled into a different gravitational pull.
The composition floats slightly off-center, hovering between symmetry and imbalance. Two white circles — like distant moons — echo one another in uneven equilibrium.
To me, a second orbit doesn’t repeat the first. It reinvents it.
Acrylic on a reused canvas. Brushes, rollers, and sponges.
